Question: I have installed your ORC-UM-R and the door is opening every minute?

Answer: The ORC-UM-R is a multipurpose relay module. You need to adjust the timer on the unit, Fully anticlockwise and then quarter of a turn clockwise. This will allow the relay to be used as a standard Timer Relay.

Question: The Unlock relay is not operating when we press the Unlock Door?

Answer: There are several possibilities.

1st check the relay is powered with 12V DC and the small red LED is lit (not flashing) inside the ORC-UM-R

2nd check you have installed using Relay 1 (not Relay 2 used for delayed functionality)

3rd check the relay switches by temporarily making connection between Exit 1 (orange) and GND (black) - this should operate relay for dedicated time.

4th if the above did not operate make sure there are no short connections with any of the other wires / connections. Also check when you apply Exit 1 to GND the RED LED inside does not turn off - If it does turn off, then the 12V DC power is not correct.

5th Check the XF (Purple) wire is not touching anything as this is FIRE input and will overide.

Question: Why does my lock work backwards, unlocked and then locks when Door Button is pressed?

Answer: The ORC-UM-R is designed to work as Fail Safe. This means when powered the Relays will work in reverse. NO1 will actually be Closed during normal state. Then when Door Release is pressed the NO1 will become open for timed period. Returning to normally closed.

Question: Should we Power the Relay form the Door Panel or from the Local PSU for Door Locks

Answer: We have found most installations use the Local PSU which is battery backed up. You must use the Local PSU if you wish to follow SBD applications.

Questions: Can we leave the additional cables on the ribbon floating.

Answer: NO, Please insulate or terminate all wires so they do not touch any other connections.

Question: Can we use Relay 2 for Pedestrian Gate and Relay 1 for Vehicle Gate

Answer: Yes, not as standard. The monitor must have firmware that allows multiple door release. When a call is answered by the Touch Screen, the end user can choose button 1 for Relay 1 and Button 2 for Relay 2.

Question: Can we install the relay module outside?

Answer: Yes, however it must be installed in a weather rated enclosure and not exceed the products humidity / temperature ratings.
